Children’s Podiatry

Shoes Feet Gear is a podiatry practice that specialises in the provision of professional podiatry services as well as complimentary footwear and gear suitable for all ages and fitness types.

Podiatry is not limited to a certain age group. In fact we see many children who greatly benefit from using our services. When it comes to your kid's feet parents want to ensure any potential issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

When looking for a children’s podiatrist in Brisbane, you are looking for someone with the experience, the expertise and the ability to empathise with young patients. In each case, Shoes Feet Gear ticks the box.

Some of the common problems we treat include:

Flat Feet - (click here)

Flat feet is a condition in which the arch of the foot collapses, with the entire sole of the foot coming into complete or near-complete contact with the ground. The human arch develops in infancy and early childhood and can be facilitated or inhibited by various activities involving the foot. Proper treatment of flat feet in childhood can help avoid long term problems as children age and grow into adulthood.

Sever's Disease - (click here)

Sever's disease involves inflammation of the growth plate at the back of the heel in children.

Growing pains - (click here)

Children complain of pain in their legs, wake at night and may want their legs rubbed. The pain is from abnormal lower limb function and is not normal.

Heel Pain - (click here)

Heel pain is a common complaint in many people, with children in particular suffering heel pain as a symptom of a range of various medical conditions, including Severs disease or heel spurs.

Intoeing - (click here)

Intoeing in children is also called pigeon toes, where the toes turn in when they walk. Intoeing can cause children to slip or trip and if not adequately assessed by a professional it can cause problems in adulthood.

Toe Walking - (click here)

Toe walking is condition in which a child walks on his or her toes without putting weight on the heel. Whilst common in toddlers, however it can also be the symptom of other causes and so is not necessarily a condition that young child grows out of.

Our kids health and wellbeing matters to us, and so we want the best for them and their feet. That is the philosophy of the podiatry team at Shoes Feet Gear. Contact us about our children’s podiatry services today!
